Bakugan Toys.

There are many Bakugan Toys out there, Battle packs, Booster packs, Starter packs, Card Booster pack the Battle Arena and the Bakugan launcher, there is even a special collectors case to keep the Bakugan toys in. There are also many types of Warriors and they all have different points.

It will depend on your childs involvement in the game already as to which Bakugan toy you would buy. If your child is a newby and have friends who already have Bakugan toys then I would sugest at least a Bakugan toy Starter pack. But if your child is the first in your street or his class to get them then I would suggest a Bakugan toy Battle pack so they can play with the friends that don't yet have their own. They don't need an arena to play the game or a launcher they just make the game more real and enjoyable.

Bakugan Toy Review

Bakugan has quickly become the latest hit in anime character battle games. They have been selling quickly in toy stores across the U.S. and Canada, and have been named one of the top toys of 2008 by Time Magazine and Newsday.

Just like Pokemon, Bakugan features both a cartoon show and a competitive card game, with many accessories to accompany it. The show can be seen on Cartoon Network and features the cards and marble characters who are portrayed as beings from another dimension.

The game components that I received for review included:

Each card represents a Bakugan Battle Brawler character. Each Bakugan piece consists of a marble that is rolled across the battle arena until it lands on a Bakugan card, thereby unlocking and transforming the playing piece into a particular fighting position. When two marbles from opposing players land on the same card, there is a simulated 'battle' that determines which player captures that particular card. There are numbers on the marble pieces as well as on the cards that indicate the scoring. A quick series of scoring calculations from the numbers on the cards and marbles determines who wins each battle, and ultimately, the game.

When Spin Master toys sent me the latest Bakugan Battle Brawlers game and accessories for review, I went directly to the experts closest to me — my daughter and my nephew. My four-year-old daughter played the game with me first. Although the math involved in keeping score of the battle rankings was a bit beyond her at this age, it certainly wouldn't be a problem for older kids, and it didn't interfere with her enjoyment of competitively shooting marbles across the battle arena game board until they landed on a card and opened up into a Bakugan character. She now asks to play Bakugan constantly, and has told all of her friends about her new game.

Bakugan Battle Brawlers

What's in the packs?

Included in the Bakugan Battle Brawlers Packs are 6 Marbles, 6 metal gate (magnetic activation) cards, 6 ability cards and instructions, making the Battle Pack an ideal option for newbies to get started with this fun and exciting game. However this isn't the only size pack you can buy, there are starter packs that contain 3 marbles and 3 of each type of cards or there are booster packs that contain one marble and one magnetic card.

The game itself is quite straightforward, but if your child is new to it you might have to help him or her to understand the rules before they get started -- after reading and understanding them yourself. While some of the plastic Bakugan pieces are fairly small and could easily be lost, others, like the Bakugan Deka, are as big as a softball.

If your child already loves Bakugan, the Battle Pack is a great investment. The sets contains 6 randomly selected Bakugan and depending on which pack you buy a selection of 6 ability and 6 metal gate cards. Your child will love how these sets and they can dramatically increase their collection of Bakugan! They can also use the Battle Packs to play with their friends who might not have any Bakugan of their own.

Bakugan Battle

Room for the Imagination

Bakugan Battle game combines skill (aiming your Bakugan) and strategy (placement of the cards). The aim is to roll or launch your Bakugan warriors on to the cards placed in the arena or your gaming area, they pop open on the magnetic cards -- although sometimes they do it even when they don't land on the cards. You score the points on the cards that coincides with the type of warrior you have chosen for your battle. Each player takes turns adding or subtracting their scores along the way, the winner is the one with highest score.

There are 2-4 players and you each lay down a car (face down) in front of your opponent and their card will be in front of you. Then you take turn launching your bakugan, once one lands on a card properly it will open.

Play continues until 2 bakugan are on the same card, if they're both yours you win the card and you take it out of play, if they're not both yours (one yours and one your opponents) then you battle, flip the card over. There are different types of cards; normal cards which just have the sector bubbles on the side indicating how much your bakugan gain/ loses g-points depending on their attribute, there's character card which will have the name of a bakugan at the top and if one of those bakugans land on the card then their g-points are doubled, there's also command cards which have tiny writing at the bottom of the card indicating that there is something you have to do (commands vary.) but the point is to have more g- points than your opponent- say my pyros (red) bakugan has 300g's and my opponents haos (silver- white) bakugan has 350g's and they landed on the same card, we would flip it over and look on the left of the card where the sector bubbles are and find the red bubble and the white bubble. Inside those bubbles there will be a number such as -50 or 100 this indicates the number of g's that you must add or takeaway from your bakugans power level.

So if the card said in the red bubble: 100 than I would add 100g's to my bakugan's power making it 400g's. And say the white bubble said: -50 than you would take off 50g's form my opponents bakugan making it 300gs. So now it's 400 against 300 and mine's stronger so I take the bakugans and the card off the field and they're now mine, although I can't use the card again.

Play continues until 1 player runs out of Bakugan. And at the beginning of you're turn it is your choice to put down another card on the field of not, but if you do put one down than one side of the card must always be touching a side of a card that is already on the field.

If you are unfamiliar with the TV show it is shown on Cartoon Network, you may feel a little lost at first in the world of Bakugan. But with the help of the colorful, animated Bakugan Web site, you'll soon get the gist of what the game is about and how to play. A launcher isn't necessary kids can simply roll the Bakugan like marbles for a fun and action-packed game with their friends.

Exciting Magnetic Action

The Bakugan come in many colors and varieties that make them great fun to collect and trade. The majority of them are pocket-sized and easy for children to carry around and take to their friend's houses, there is also a carry case available. The magnetic cards that activate the warriors is a clever idea that adds excitement to the game. The Bakugan Launcher (sold separately) is a great accessory, it has three shooting modes ("curve," "angle, and "distance"), sadly it doesn't include any instructions.
